Once upon a time seven years ago we were eyes front at a small stage festival in Chicago, enraptured with a figure in a floor-length silver glitter-wig as she swayed between the amps and cymbals. Twin Sister was one of the most exciting new artists at the time, full of the breathiest of vocals and the shiniest of melodic tendencies.
Later renamed as Mr Twin Sister, the Long Island based group still finds the catchiest of gooey centers to place in their candy Pop songs – always wrapped around a hook that makes the dance floor the only solution to the fever you soon contract.
If the cold key tunnels and disco bass rhythms don’t grab you by the hips, the island percussion just might; “Echo Arms” is the song you want in your ears five minutes into a day by the pool.
Mr Twin Sister also recently launched their own radio channel boasting “fresh daily mixes, unreleased MTS obscurities, classic MTS and MTS-approved albums”. Jump to it via the link above.
